Environment Agency releases much needed guidelines on the legal treatment of Road Sweeping and Gully Waste

Environment Agency releases much needed guidelines on the legal treatment of Road Sweeping and Gully Waste.

Environment Agency guidance sets out clarification on the treatment, recovery and disposal routes that are now permitted for street sweeping and gully emptying wastes. It further demonstrates how this information should be recorded for the Landfill Allowances and Trading Scheme (LATS).

It is expected, given the dearth of compliant road sweeping waste recycling facilities around the UK at present, that these rules are likely to create immediate and unexpected short to medium term additional cost burdens on County Council waste disposal obligations in addition to delivering increased landfill use.

Having invested extensively on the development of our compliant and award winning Sweeper and Gully waste recycling process we are in a great position to deliver affordable assistance to any Council or third party waste carrier requiring a solution to the problem.
